Here’s a little Canada 411 for you – do you know where one of the most romantic places in North America is? It’s Montreal, of course. Everybody knows that if you have tons of money and a healthy romantic streak, you take your special someone to Paris, France. But most of us don’t have the time or the dosh for something so extravagant. So we have to improvise. But why settle for just “drinks and a show” in any old town? Montreal has a rich and diverse history, and tons of special attractions that most cities simply cannot duplicate. The following is a list of just a few of them – as we all know, teasing is the best start to a romantic evening. And once your… appetite is whetted, the fun can really begin, in earnest. So take your sweet heart to a couple of these places… and the rest is personal. If you happen to be looking for a place for a simple pint, try Brutopia. It’s a favorite hang out for the local student population (as is any place that serves alcohol). And one thing that is really unique about Brutopia is that they actually have raspberry beer – which could become a fun little memory (as long as you don’t have too many of them). If you’re into something a bit classier, throw on some decent clothes and check out Maison de Jazz. Even if you don’t speak French, jazz is jazz – and they don’t charge a cover if you eat dinner there. If you want the club atmosphere, but also really like pie, in a lot of cities you’d be up a creek without a paddle. But, in Montreal, they’ve got you covered. Try the Rockaberry, a café with a high-energy “club” feeling… but you get to eat pie!
