The latest plunge of the dollar caused many Americans in Europe to scale back their vacations. Europe was once a best bargain for American tourists but recently people have reasoned out that Europe trip has become costlier. Of course, the prices in Europe are higher than last year and dollar-to-euro exchange rate is worse than ever before, but still the fact remains that Europe is far less expensive than United Kingdom, Scandinavia or Ireland. No doubt, Europe is no longer the best bargain for American tourists, but it’s still the inexpensive destination. Various package tours and websites offer excellent rates when air ticket charges are combined with hotel arrangements. Hotels prices in Europe are almost about the same as in New York. From simple beverages, deserts, tea bags, snacks to taxi or bus ride, the prices are almost similar or much lesser in Europe than United States. These prices are not at all extreme by American standards. American travelers can live just as well on vacation in Europe as they do at home. The bottom line is that American tourists can still go on vacation to Europe as it won’t pick a lot on their pockets. So, don’t let Chicken Little travel writers rattle your dreams of traveling to Europe. Go ahead and enjoy yourself. Source: MSNBC
