New Forest Act bars cross-country motorized travelA new National Forest Act was brought into effects this weekend to prohibit the use of ORVs, OHMs, OHVS and ATVs on any route, road, or trail in the National Forest, which is not considered for motorized use.



So for the hunters, who like to hunt ‘off the beaten path’, and require free rain of the forest, right away from the main routes, it is a worthless gesture. The transformation will engulf almost one million acres of Ottawa National Forest land, which is spread all the way through the Western Upper Peninsula, the users have been invited to put forward their favorite trails for designation so that they may stay open.



The main objective of the travel management plan is to bring about a sustainable system of areas and routes selected for motorized use, and it was encouraged by proposal in the 2004 Federal Register, wherein 81,563 responses showing all fifty states, Puerto Rico and District of Columbia, depicted support for areas of motor use.
