The oyster card has been now packed with new features especially for Indians travelling to England. According to the recently launched scheme Go-anywhere Oyster card has been put up for sale in India in rupees, enabling tourists and others to save on foreign exchange.
London’s Oyster card is an electronic smartcard, which holds cash and facilitate passengers to pay for Tube, bus, DLR (Dockland LightRail) and tram journeys. India is one of the six countries which has been chosen by London mayor Ken Livingstone.
Ken Livingstone said:
Oyster is already a proven success with Londoners and this new contract will make it easier for millions of foreign visitors to get around London.
Public transport is the best way to travel in London, so in this regard the deal will provide cheaper, faster and simpler journeys.
