Hey! I have interesting news for you. It’s that a permanent photo exhibition is inaugurated by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee in China’s northwestern Gansu province’s Dunhuang county as a part of the activities in the ongoing Sino-Indian Friendship Year.
This exhibition is titled, The Path of Compassion that includes Indian photographer Benoy K. Behl’s 71 works on a visual pilgrimage from the Buddha’s birthplace to the spot where he attained Nirvana. Benoy Behl’s is well known for his sensitive photography of Buddhist art, which provides a deep insight into the gentle and compassionate message of the art.
In my opinion, this is going to be a fantastic reason to embark on a trip to China’s Dunhuang county. Apart from the photographs, you will be able to see some of the world’s largest and best preserved collection of Buddhist art. Also, traveling in China is not very costly.
